June 2013 Newsletter

From all of the authors at Peace in the Storm Publishing, we would like to wish all of the great Dads out there a Happy Father’s Day!

I’d like to take this time to share with my literary family the wonderful gift that I received this year; it wasn’t a Father’s Day gift, per se, but it was a wonderful gift from my only child.

My daughter graduated from high school this year, and it was a wonderful milestone in her life and my life, as well. My parents flew in to watch my daughter, their granddaughter, take her next step towards college. On my way to the graduation ceremony, my daughter sent me a text, and she specifically told me to sit on the aisle on the lower level of the venue. So I did.

Towards the end of the ceremony, the speaker gave one final instruction to the graduates as he pointed to a huge bouquet of yellow roses. He said, “I want each of you to take one of these yellow roses, and give it to the person who had the most to do with your personal success.” The graduates walked around and gave a yellow rose to their influential person of choice. When my daughter got her yellow rose, she walked over to the area where her mother and I were sitting, and she gave it to me. That is not to diminish the contribution that her mother made to her life. But the gesture does speak to how much all that I did as a father was acknowledged and appreciated. I stood up to receive my yellow rose, we hugged and I gave her a kiss on the cheek. It was a touching moment to say the least.

With my testimony, I acknowledge and appreciate every good father, today. For all of the times, your kids didn’t say “Thank you,” I’m saying “Thank you” on their behalf. We are Earthly fathers whose job it is to represent our Heavenly Father in the role of protector, provider, role model, and authority figure. My daughter is now an adult and our relationship has transitioned. I am no longer the childrearing father; I am not the counseling and advising father. God has empowered each and every one of us for the task, whether you have toddlers or teenagers. Stay on your task, because our children still need us, and this day belongs to you!

Infinite Blessings,
Brian Ganges

“What Happens in this house, stays in this house.”

Renee was a woman who seemed to have it all; a wonderful husband, loving family, wonderful church family, great job and the house of her dreams.  She and her husband Gary have a very loving relationship.  Or do they?
From the outside, Renee’s world gives the appearance of perfection.  That is until a mysterious new broker by the name of Stephen Morretti begins working at the same firm with Renee.  He is very charismatic and there is definite sexual tension between him and Renee.  He will become the catalyst for Renee’s voyage into a world of addiction.
Regina and Joseph Michaels are Renee’s doting parents.  They are pillars of the church and looked up to in their community.  They were always an integral part of Renee, who was their only child’s life.  Or were they?  They know the truth behind the veil of lies that Renee has created for her survival.
Aunt Lucinda is not only Renee’s shelter in the storm; she holds the secrets of the past in her memories.  She is who Renee turns to when her life starts to unravel; she will become the balm that allows her to begin to heal from the wounds of her present and her past.
Uncle Larry is Lucinda’s husband and her grandfather, Marcus Caine’s brother.  He holds three generations of guilt and will try to make amends to his family for all the pain and grief that his brother has inflicted upon the three generations of women.
Chains of Deception will take you on a journey of family secrets, betrayal, lust and lies.  Generational curses and soul ties abound in this story of learning to heal from the wounds of our past and learning to forgive others as well as ourselves for the mistakes of our present.
