March 2014 Newsletter

Good day readers!

It is a pleasure to join the Peace in the Storm (PITS) family of authors. The ability to share my work with readers is exciting. What I love most about PITS is the freedom authors have to express themselves. With PITS, there is no box. This is invaluable. So many authors feel compelled to write from a limited perspective. PITS frees authors, allowing them to write from various perspectives. This not only serves the author, but it serves readers. They are able to receive the full spectrum of an author’s personality and creativity. I trust that my time with PITS will be rewarding. I look forward to the adventure and what lies just over the horizon. As I think about what lies beyond the horizon, on the other side of the rainbow, I also think about Spring and the time of renewal that is upon us.

Twenty-Fourteen and beyond is about renewal and stepping into this dawning age of human spiritual transformation and advancement. March, the month of regeneration, is the microcosmic representation of this new millennium that we should fervently recreate toward. A long winter of gathering energy is nearly over. The Spring, filled with the releasing of that energy is at hand. Everything begins to regenerate, bursting forth from a long slumber, releasing the power of creation. Seeds begin to open, pushing through the still cold soil. Buds appear on the branches of long naked trees and leafless bushes--even as the remnants of frost try to hang on before making their final exit. Warm fronts move in more frequently and remind us that afternoons at the beach are not far off. The days become longer and the sun continues to grace us with her presence well after dinner hours. Evening walks are more commonplace with lighter jackets providing comfort as we chat with friends along the way. Stars seem brighter and ripe for wishing on. These are the days of Spring.

Spring renewal and the releasing of energy is in synchronicity with our body and spirit. Spring is not only for the birds and trees and vegetation, Spring is also our spiritual and physical reboot--a sort of resumption. This is the time that we too release the energy we’ve spent months gathering. This energy is power. It is a force inside us that once released transforms us and all those around us. Our spirit buds and begins to open. Our soul seeds sprout, ready to create something new and wonderfully creative for the world to see. We burst through the past adversity, pushing through the soil of our being so that we can reach for the sun. And reach we must. As we find our way toward the sun and rain, our roots dig firmly into the ground, anchoring us to our recreations. In essence, we are Spring.

As you move through this month, see yourself as one with nature and a part of all living things that benefit from the coming Spring. You are the trees, the shrubs, the flowers, the fields of grass, the streams of water, the sun warmed rocks, the birds, the insects, the bear waking from hibernation; you are everything that comes alive with the changing season because you are a part of a grand creation that is Earth. As mother Earth gives rebirth to what once slept for a season, so too must you be reborn. Today is a new day. Live it renewed, transformed and filled with the power of the creative force that lives inside you.

An Eye of the Storm Short

"Every now and then, God gives a talented artist a gift within their gift, a destiny-creating piece that illuminates so brightly it defies average definition. Elissa Gabrielle has brilliantly weaved a tale that is, simply put, for your eyes and heart to behold."

~William Fredrick Cooper
Award-Winning/Best-Selling Author of THERE’S ALWAYS A REASON

The true measure of our existence begins with the way we view the world.

Jerusalem "Jay" Jones has experienced the uglier side of life. As an Iraq war Veteran, he is a hero for bravely putting his life on the line to serve his country. But that unselfish act resulted in him lying in a Veteran’s hospital with injuries he sustained from the war. His present circumstance should be a cakewalk for Jerusalem considering what he has witnessed both as a child and while in the heat of battle. The pleasantries of love, laughter and life have always seemed to elude him. From his early days as a child growing up abused and terrorized on the tough streets of Newark, to being all that he could be in the military, Jerusalem’s life has been anything but pleasant and attractive when viewed from the surface. Now, vulnerable and reclusive, he must face the world he joined the military to escape, armed with only dark secrets from his past, a bruised and burdened psyche and limits to him physically.

Jill Lopes longs to fix the wounded and broken, but before she can heal the sick, she must first mend her own battle scars of unhappiness and resistance, and find a way to push past the experiences that haunt her. When fate boldly steps in and introduces itself into Jerusalem's and Jill's lives, they realize that the challenges we meet in life hold the power to open us to a higher, more meaningful existence. Will they both be able to view the world for what it really is under the clear truth of who they are and what they are capable of becoming together? Does beauty really lie in the eye of the beholder? Experience the power of love on this redemptive journey where the purpose of the tribulations in one's life, will be empowered to reveal the gifts they bring.
